This one day course is aimed at those with little or no formal training in understanding and working with people who self-harm and/or attempt suicide.

Objectives/Aims of Course

The aim of this course is to help you to understand how to support those thinking about self-harm and having suicidal thoughts.

Course Programme

This course will cover:

  • Understanding what self-harm is
  • Why do people choose to self-harm
  • How can we support people who self-harm
  • Understanding what suicide is
  • Why do people attempt suicide
  • How to support a person who is attempting suicide

Course Deliverables

This course will provide a certificate of training for Self-Harm and Suicide Awareness.
